Weekly Data Centre News - 10/07/2026
Weekly Update! This week’s update comes with my first podcast recorded live at Datacloud Global Congress now available - “Neo Clouds, AI Infrastructure and the UK Data Centre Opportunity”. It was a great conversation exploring one of the biggest shifts happening in our industry right now: the rise of neocloud providers and how they are helping to accelerate the next phase of AI infrastructure deployment.
And that conversation couldn’t be more relevant given the pace of change we are seeing across the sector. The industry continues to move at incredible speed, with AI driving demand for more capacity, more power, and more innovative approaches to delivering infrastructure. Datacloud itself highlighted the scale of the opportunity, with investment, financing, and AI-driven growth dominating conversations across the event.
This week we have also seen continued momentum across the market - from new AI infrastructure developments to further investment in power and capacity. The conversation is increasingly moving beyond “will demand arrive?” to “how quickly can we deliver what is needed?” With grid constraints, energy availability, and speed of deployment becoming the key differentiators, the companies and regions that can execute will be the ones that benefit most.
As always, there is plenty to cover this week. The pace of announcements shows no sign of slowing, and it feels like we are still only at the beginning of this next phase of growth.
